Court fame Sridevi bags Tamil lead in KJR’s next

Must read

After impressing audiences and critics alike with her breakthrough performance in the hit Telugu film Court, actress Sridevi is now set to take a major leap in her career — as a female lead in an upcoming Tamil film. Her debut film Court, which revolved around the POCSO Act and was produced by actor Nani, became a blockbuster success. The film’s powerful storyline, combined with Sridevi’s emotive performance, made her an overnight sensation in the Telugu film industry.
Now, she’s stepping into the Tamil cinema space, joining actor KJR in her next project. KJR, who recently made his debut as a lead actor in the bilingual sports courtroom drama Gurtimpu (in both Telugu and Tamil), is now gearing up for his second outing as a hero.
The official pooja ceremony for the yet-to-be-titled film was held on Monday morning in Chennai, marking the formal launch of the project. The film is being produced by Mini Studio, the same production house behind the critically acclaimed Mark Antony. In Telugu, the film will be presented by Gangaa Entertainments.
The project also marks the directorial debut of Regan Stanislass, a protégé of the well-known Tamil filmmaker Prasanth Pandiyarajan. With a solid background in storytelling and direction, Regan is expected to bring a fresh narrative voice to the big screen.
Sridevi, who received accolades for her bold and mature performance in Court, will now play the female lead opposite KJR. This film not only marks her debut as a lead heroine but also introduces her to the Tamil audience.
The music will be composed by Ghibran, known for his innovative and soul-stirring soundtracks, adding more excitement to the project. The film is being bankrolled by S Vinoth Kumar under the Mini Studio banner.
