The High Court stayed the acquisition of endowments land for Hyderabad Pharma City.
A notification was issued for 1,022 acres of Omkareshwar Temple in Nandiparthi and Singaram village in Yacharam Mandal.
A Single Judge bench agreed for LA of temple lands.
An appeal was filed against this judgement and Justice Vinod Kumar and Justice P. Karthik heard the case. Petitioners contended that to acquire temple land, court permission is needed.
Endowment land is allowed to be acquired only for irrigation projects.
Instead of revenue authorities approval, the land acquisition went through TS-Ipass said the petitioners.
Court said that they will have to review previous orders and until then asked to maintain the status quo.
