CPI demands govt to release ‘White Paper’ on debts

CPI state general secretary K Ramakrishna demanded the state government to release a ‘white paper’ on the debt of the state.
Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, the CPI state general secretary said that the Jagan Mohan Reddy headed AP government had made ‘Rs 11 lakh crore debts’ during the last four and half years. Jagan Mohan Reddy had made Andhra Pradesh as ‘debt-ridden’, he lamented.
“The government has to pay ‘Rs 60,000 crore as interest’ on the debts. The RBI has found fault with the AP government for not following financial discipline. The governance of the Jagan Reddy headed government has become worse,” Ramakrishna slammed.
The government had adopted undemocratic practices, he criticized stating that the Anganwadi workers and helpers have  been on strike for the last 12 days and agitating but the government has initiated steps to resolve to meet their demands.
The CPI leader recalled Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy’s assurance of paying Rs 1000 higher salary to the Anganwadi workers and helpers than Telangana government but he had forgotten his assurance after coming to power.
The CPI leader demanded the government to pay Rs 26,000 salary to the Anganwadi workers as per the Supreme Court’s verdict.
“The Jagan Mohan Reddy headed government has failed in completing the Polavaram project workers. The evacuees have not been not paid compensation. Basic amenities have not been provided to the evacuee’s colony. Those who parted with their lands and houses were living in miserable state in the colonies,” he deplored.
Launching a scathing attack on the Narendra Modi led Central government, the CPI senior leaders took strong exception for suspending 146 MPs from the Parliament. The suspensions of 146 MPs are reflecting the arbitrariness of the Modi led government, he flayed.
Rama Krishna demanded Union Home Minister Amit Shah to make a statement in the Parliament on the intruding of two persons and releasing of smoke. “The Centre introduced 18 bills in the Parliament and got them passed when the Opposition members were absent,” he pointed out.
CPI national executive member Akkineni Vanaja demanded the state government to extend help to the Michaunt cyclone affected farmers. She asked the government to purchase the paddy relaxing conditions from the farmers. CPI leaders Dega Prabhakar, Chalasani Venkata Rama Rao, Mannava Krishna Chaitanya, Uppuluri Hema Shanar, Bandi Venkateswara Rao and other leaders were present.
