CPI-M demands loan waiver scheme without any strings

Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) on Friday demanded that the State government implement loan waiver scheme without any strings attached to it.
CPI-M district secretary Nunna Nageswara Rao, speaking to the media, alleged that the loan waiver scheme was politicised. It turned out to be a challenge and counter challenges between Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and former minister T Harish Rao.
He stressed the need to implement the crop loan waiver in accordance with the promise made by the Congress party ahead of elections. The CPI-M leaders demanded that white ration card should be withdrawn from among the eligibility criteria for securing loan waiver benefit.
The CPI-M would organise a massive protest in front of Khammam District Collectorate on August 27.
Nagewara Rao said that the ruling and opposition parties are trying to gain political mileage. He criticised the Chief Minister for saying that loan waiver was completed. Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka’s statement showed that loan waiver benefits are yet to reach all farmers, he said.
