Communist Party of India (CPI) State committee member Ch Rajareddy on Friday expressed concern over politic being treated as a profitable business. He pointed out that the “vote buying” has deprived the common man of the opportunity to contest in the elections.
Addressing the AITUC extended meeting at Cheria on Friday, he said that the political leaders were spending crores of rupees in elections and taking advantage of their power to earn money illegally.
He stressed the need to drive out caste-based politics, politics of religion, money power in politics and political defections.
He regretted that the politicians were not paying attention to the problem being faced by people.
He appealed to the workers to gird up their loins and fight against “anti-people policies: of the State and Central governments.
CPI district secretary Manda Pawan, AITUC State leader Akula Srinivas, CPI district executive body member Ande Ashok and others were present.
