CPM demands govt to provide input subsidy to farmers promptly

Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) district secretary Mudireddy Sudhakar Reddy demanded that the government immediately credit the farmers input subsidy under Rythu Bharosa into their accounts as promised in the Congress election manifesto.
On Sunday, a meeting of the party’s constituency-level mandal secretaries and district committees was held at the local CPI-M party office.
Speaking on the occasion, Sudhakar Reddy said that before the elections, the Congress party had promised to increase the farmer’s input subsidy from Rs 5,000 to Rs 7,500 per acre, With the onset of the agricultural season, farmers are facing difficulties in getting money for seeds, fertilizers, labourers, ploughing and other agricultural work and they may be forced to approach private moneylenders.
He said that as the sowing season has started, the farmers are not getting seeds and fertilizers on time. He demanded that the government waive farm loans up to Rs 2 lakh.
He warned that if the central government was conspiring to auction coal mines to facilitate corporate plunder the country’s wealth.
CPI-M district secretary K Nagi Reddy and Ch Lakshminarayana said political training classes would held for for party members at the constituency level at Nidamanur mandal centre on July 8.
Party  district committee members Kondeti Srinu, Awadu Saidaiah, mandal secretaries Dubba Rama chandraiah, Daida Srinu mandal leaders Kathi Srinivas Reddy, Vemulakonda Pullaiah, J Ravi Naik, P Venkanna and others participated in this programme.
