Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) district secretary Nunna Nageshwar Rao on Sunday said that the party would intensify struggle against the anti-people policies being followed by the Central and State governments. He was speaking as the chief guest at a meeting of the party’s Paleru division, held at the local Sundarayya Bhavan in Khammam, under the chairmanship of CPI-M district committee member Nandra Prasad.
In his address, Nageshwar Rao emphasised the need for mass movements across the district in March and April against the anti-people policies of the State government. An action plan are being prepared under the leadership of all the division committees. He highlighted that the Paleru division has a strong movement base, having witnessed several struggles of farmers, laborers, students, youth, women, and workers, and urged current party activists to continue this legacy.
Speaking on the occasion, CPI-MM district leader Bugga Veethi Sarala called for women to join movements against attacks on them.
Party division secretary Bandari Ramesh remarked that the CPI-M has a strong cadre base in the Paleru constituency and recalled the past experience of winning the MLA seat and being the main opposition party.
The meeting was attended by party district committee members Sheikh Basheeruddin, Godavarthi Nageshwar Rao, Uuradi Sudarshan Reddy, Kommu Seenu, Mallela Hanumanth Rao, mandal secretaries Totakuri Rajasekhar, K.V. Reddy, Bellam Lakshmi, Pendayala Sumathi, Veginati Mangatayaru, as well as other prominent leaders like Perumallapalli Mohan Rao, Nandigama Krishna, Pratap, Venkateshwarlu, Vadlamudi Venkateshwarlu, Bhukya Nageshwar Rao, Tulluru Nageshwar Rao, Dasari Mahender, Angirekula Narasayya, Pagidi Kattula Nageshwar Rao, Racha Narasimhar Rao, Seelam Gurumurthy, Bikkasari Gangadhar, and over 200 others.
