Several changes have taken place in the recruitment process for Group-2 and Group-3 jobs conducted by the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC). The government has issued an order making the Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) certificate mandatory for the recruitment of Group-2 and Group-3 jobs. APPSC Secretary (Services & HRM) Dr Pola Bhaskar issued Ad hoc Rules for any State and Subordinate Service.
No person shall be eligible for appointment to any service in the State Government by Direct Recruitment to Group-II and Group-III, etc services unless they hold a pass Certificate of Computer Proficiency Test conducted by the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission or the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Andhra Pradesh or any State or Central University recognized by the University Commission (UGC) or State Government. The orders also stated that nothing in this rule shall apply to direct recruitment to Group-I Services.
According to APPSC, the test duration will be for 60 minutes for a maximum marks of 100 and the minimum qualifying marks for SC, ST, and PH will be 30, for BCs 35 and OCs will be 40 marks only. The test paper will consist of Part A and Part B. Part A will be for 20% marks, and Part B will be for 80%.
