Create society sans caste bias: Collector

District Collector L Shiva Shankar has underlined the need for creating a society devoid of discrimination along the lines of caste, religion and creed.

The Collecto,r along with MP Lavu Srikrishnadevarayalu and Whip Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy, formally launched the Chapakudu programme on the third day of ‘Veerula Tiranala’ programmes being organised at Karempudi village in Macherla constituency.

On the occasion, the Collected unveiled the caricature image of Chapakudu and had lunch with the participants of the programme. Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said that the ‘Veerula Tirunala’ programme was launched about 850 years ago. All people irrespective of caste and religion participate in the programme. The ‘Veerula Tirunala’ programme began on November 23, he informed.

MLA and Whip Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy appreciated the organisers for organising the Veerula Thirunala programme grandly. MP Sri Krishnadevarayalu said that the glory of Palnati kingdom should be propagated widely. Steps should be taken to organise the programme as an official programme, he suggested. SP Ravishankar Reddy, seer Charan Chenna Keshav, MRO Srinivasulu and other officials were present.
