CS meets delegation from Singapore

A delegation from Singapore met with CRDA and Municipal Department officials at the State Secretariat on Wednesday, and discussed various issues. The Singapore government was a key partner in the construction of capital Amaravati in 2014-2019 and hoped that the same would continue now, said Chief Secretary K Vijayanand.
The CS said that this government has paid special attention to the construction of Amaravati from the day it came to power. He said that there is no shortage of funds. A large amount of funds has been raised from World Bank, HUDCO and ADB, in addition to Central funds.
The CS said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will come this month to restart the construction work of the capital. He said that more clarity will come on all issues as there will be a meeting with the Chief Minister on Thursday.
Principal Secretary of the Municipal Administration Department, S Suresh Kumar, has said that the government is determined to complete the works at the earliest. He said that the Amaravati Master Plan was prepared earlier. He said that all efforts are being made to build Amaravati as one of the sustainable and highly liveable cities in the world.
Earlier, AP CRDA Commissioner K Kannababu made a PowerPoint presentation and said that the government is taking rapid steps to build the Amaravati capital with an area of 217 sq km. As part of this, a large amount of funds has been raised for the construction of the Amaravati government complex, several trunk roads, other structures and other infrastructure facilities, and tenders have been called for the works. He further said that the Prime Minister will resume works worth about Rs 1 lakh crore, lay the foundation stone for the works, and perform several inaugurations. He also brought to the attention of the Singapore delegation the steps being taken by the government in relation to many other issues.
Singapore government representative Dr Francis Chong said that they will make every effort to work with the AP government to renew the partnership related to the construction of the Amaravati capital as in the past.
Amaravati Development Corporation Limited CMD Lakshmi Parthasaradhi, CRDA Additional Commissioners Praveen Chand, Singapore representatives Audrey Tan, Dr Eliah Ang, Naaznee Begum, Vivek Raghuraman, Densie Tan, Vaishnavi Vasudevan and others attended the meeting.
