CS outlines pension distribution plan

The NTR Bharosa Pension will be distributed to 6,518,496 beneficiaries across the State starting at 6 a.m. on July 1, announced Chief Secretary Neerabh Kumar Prasad on Saturday. During a video conference with District Collectors in Vijayawada, Prasad outlined the distribution plan.
Prasad revealed that Rs 4,399.89 crore has been allocated for distributing pensions to 6,518,496 beneficiaries on July 1, with village and ward secretariat staff handling the distribution.
District Collectors have been instructed to involve staff from other departments to ensure smooth operations.
The Chief Secretary emphasised the importance of flawless execution, noting that this is a major government initiative.
 He directed that the first pension distribution should commence at 6 a.m. in all village and ward secretariats. Additionally, each beneficiary will receive a letter from the Chief Minister along with their pension payment.
Prasad instructed Collectors to develop a plan for distributing 100% of pensions on July 1 and to aim for completing over 95% of distributions on the first day. Collectors are also required to monitor the distribution process hourly. The directive includes distributing the total dues for April, May, and June, alongside the Rs 4,000 pension for July.
The Chief Secretary clarified that the funds allocated for pensions should be withdrawn from banks by Saturday night. If any bank is unable to process the withdrawal by then, it must remain open on Sunday to complete the transaction.
State Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Department Chief Secretary Shashi Bhushan Kumar announced the launch of a new app for the NTR Bharosa Pension Scheme’s distribution. He instructed all pension distribution officers to download and use the app. Staff from village and ward secretariats, as well as other necessary departments, should be utilized for effective fund distribution.
Village Ward Secretariats Director M. Shiva Prasad, Finance Secretary K.V.V. Satya Narayana, and various district Collectors participated in the video conference.
