CS reviews Mahankali Bonalu arrangements

Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari directed the officials to make elaborate arrangements in a peaceful and organised manner for the ensuing Ujjaini Mahankali Bonalu festival on the July 21 and 22.
As large number of devotees are expected to have the darshan, she emphasised the need to ensure a hassle-free darshan for the devotees. She said that there should be effective coordination among the departments to ensure that no devotee is put to any hardship. The CS held a meeting on Bonalu festival with the officials on Friday and took stock of the arrangements made for the smooth conduct of the festival. Police officials informed that all the queue lines have been barricaded, entry and exit points have been earmarked and movement of regular vehicular traffic is restricted near the temple premises. A traffic advisory has also been issued so that general public are not put to any inconvenience during the festival.
Control room has been set up at the Mahankali police station which will function from the July 20 midnight.
Officials informed that five medical teams have been deployed to provide medical aid to the devotees. 150 sanitation workers in three shifts have been drafted to ensure sanitation. Mobile toilets have also been arranged around the temple premises. Two 500 KV transformers and diesel generators have been kept in standby in order to ensure continuous power supply during the festival.
Endowments Department Principal Secretary Shailaja Ramaiyer, Endowments Commissioner Hanumantha Rao, GHMC Commissioner Amrapali Kata, TGSPDCL Managing Director Musharraf Ali, Hyderabad Collector Anudeep, R&B Joint Secretary Harish and other officials participated in the meeting.
