Chief Secretary Dr KS Jawahar Reddy reviewed the progress of construction of priority projects in the State, including Polavaram, on Wednesday with the officials of the Water Resources Department. In particular, he reviewed the project-wise progress of the works completed so far, the works yet to be completed, the rehabilitation to be implemented for the residents, etc.
The CS reviewed the works related to the Polavaram project and those undertaken so far in relation to the rehabilitation package. He instructed the officials to take appropriate measures to complete the works as per the specified deadline.
Later, the CS reviewed the other priority projects — Pula Subbaiah Veligonda Project, Auku Tunnel, Gotta Barrage Heera Mandal Irrigation Project, Vamsadhara-Nagavali River Linkage-Gotta Barrage Reservoir Project, HNSS Phase-2 etc. He directed the officials to take appropriate measures to enable these five projects to be completed and commissioned this year. The CS also reviewed the project-wise funds released so far, the total amount of work completed, and the progress of the rehabilitation package being implemented for the residents of the projects.
State Water Resources Department Principal Secretary Shasibhushan Kumar explained the progress of the work in relation to other priority projects including Polavaram through a PowerPoint presentation.
Reddy, R&R officer Pawan Aditya, State Finance Department Special Chief Secretary SS Rawat, R&R Commissioner C Sridhar, Engineer-in-Chief C Narayana Reddy, Satish Kumar, Chief Engineers Sudhakar Babu, Kabir Bhasha, Murali Nath Reddy, Venkataramana, Srinivasa Reddy, Sugunakar Rao, Hari Narayana were present.
