CS reviews steps for R-Day fete

Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari held a meeting with the officials and took stock of the arrangements being made in connection with the Republic Day celebrations to be held at Public Gardens. She directed all the departments to ensure inter-departmental coordination and make the function a grand success.
The CS informed that the Governor will unfurl the National flag at Public Gardens. The police department was instructed to make foolproof security and traffic arrangements in this regard. The R&B department was directed to illuminate all important public buildings like Raj Bhavan, Secretariat, Legislative Assembly and High Court.
The Energy department was asked to ensure uninterrupted power supply on all days of rehearsal and on the day of the main event. The health department was told to arrange fully equipped ambulance along with medical officers and to provide ORS packets in sufficient quantity. The Municipal department was told to take up fogging, cleaning and supply of drinking water for the contingents and to all the invitees. Similarly, other line departments have been asked to make elaborate arrangements in a befitting manner.
