CS seeks Central forces for polls

Chief Secretary Dr KS Jawahar Reddy told the Union Home Secretary that Andhra Pradesh state needs 465 companies of CAPF (Central Armed Police Forces) for the upcoming Parliament and Assembly elections.
Union Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla held a video meeting with CS, DGP, CEO and Home Secretaries of various states from Delhi on Thursday.
On this occasion, CS Jawahar Reddy said that 465 companies of CAPF forces and 58 companies of SAP (Special Armored Forces) forces are required for strong security measures for the upcoming general elections. CS Jawahar Reddy appealed to Home Secretary AK Bhalla to send SAP forces of 26 more companies as there are only 32 SAP forces at present.
Chief Electoral Officer Mukesh Kumar Meena, Home Secretary Harish Kumar Gupta, Additional DGP Atul Singh, Special Enforcement Bureau Director Yam Ravi Prakash, DIG Senthil Kumar and Special Secretary Home Vijay Kumar participated in this meeting while DGP KV Rajendranath Reddy participated virtually.
