‘Curb ABVP mob attacks’

Must read

Tammineni Veerabhadram, State Secretary of Communist Party of India (CPI), has demanded that the police officials curb mob attacks by the activists of Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) in Hyderabad Central University and take action against the culprits.
Veerabhadram said, “The ABVP leadership has been carrying out mob attacks in Hyderabad Central University for the past one week. About 20 students including seven female students were injured in the attack. Six people, including two students, had to be admitted to the hospital. Attacks are being carried out according to a plan in an attempt to use sensitive issues in the election environment for political purposes. The Communist Party of India (Marxist) strongly condemns these attacks.”
After ABVP activists attacked the disabled Harsharaj during the farewell celebrations on 13th of this month, Student Federation of India (SFI) leaders tried to make amends. Later on 17th, according to a plan, SFI workers attacked Faisal and injured the other students. On this occasion, while the injured were being taken to the hospital in an ambulance, the mob also blocked the ambulance. Girls were sexually abused. These things are evident in the videos, he said.
“ABVP is planning to use the incident in the university for political purposes. Those who were injured and those who tried to prevent the attack from happening are also implicated in the cases and harassed,” he added.
