Cyber awareness drive on OTP frauds

The Cybercrime police on Wednesday conducted an awareness programme on OTP frauds at SR Nagar.
The programme emphasised on methods to protect oneself from investment, job frauds, Fedex and social media frauds. Addressing the hostel dwellers, Cybercrime DCP D Kavitha said, “Don’t reveal the OTP, debit and credit card details and personal information to unknown persons. Ensure your system is up-to-date.Use a secure Internet connection. Use strong password; Beware of fraudulent emails and pop-ups. Protect yourselves from identity thefts.”
The public is cautioned not to invest money in links available on social media and WhatsApp platforms on trading, investment, part-time jobs, etc.
Don’t believe in their inducement of huge profits.
