Special Chief Secretary for Revenue and Disaster Management, R.P. Sisodia, has issued a warning regarding a low pressure area formed over the South Bay of Bengal and the eastern Equatorial Indian Ocean, which is expected to intensify into a severe cyclonic storm within the next 12 hours. The storm is currently moving north-northwest at a speed of 10 km per hour and is situated in the southeast Bay of Bengal.

Sisodia provided further details, stating that the storm is located 340 km southeast of Trincomalee, 630 km southeast of Nagapattinam, 750 km southeast of Puducherry, and 830 km southeast of Chennai. It is expected to continue moving northwest over the next two days, heading towards the coasts of Sri Lanka and Tamil Nadu.
As a result, moderate to light rainfall is expected in several southern coastal regions from November 26 to 29. Fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea from November 27 to 29 due to the increased risk posed by the storm in the western central Bay of Bengal.
Sisodia also urged farmers to take necessary precautions in light of the weather conditions. Agricultural department officials have been instructed to stay in regular contact with farmers and provide the necessary guidance.
