Daisy Shah: I am terrible at cooking, but I can bake way better

Every celebrity has their go-to food, and so does Daisy Shah. In an exclusive chat with The Pioneer, she discusses her favourite delicacies and munchies.

Check if the trending contestant of Khatron Ke Khiladi, Daisy Shah’s favourite food is your go-to food too. “I always look for Khichdi—that’s my comfort food in the bargain. I am terrible at cooking! Ask me to bake; I am terrific at it. On a regular basis, I bake out-of-the-ordinary desserts for my family.”

Being in the entertainment business, it’s important for the actress to look after herself, but don’t they have indulgences? Yes, she does! “You’ll see me munching on a lot of Makhanas and popcorn. Sometimes, nuts and a lot of fruits!” Whenever Daisy is not shooting and not getting the satisfaction she wants, she chooses the easiest option to go with, which is to call for vegetarian sushi. That’s the safest option to eat, she says! Continuing this congenial feature, she said, “I have been an ardent follower of intermittent fasting for the last eight years, very strict about it. But that doesn’t mean I restrict myself from my appeasements; I have my phases. Whenever I am filming, you’ll see me going on a strict diet! No quenching here and there. Otherwise, eat whatever you want to eat and burn those calories in the gym.”

She’s known for not eating short meals. In fact, she’s somebody who eats only when she gets those hunger pangs! If not, she can go without eating for almost sixteen hours straight away. “If I have to assuage on something daily, that’s going to be ‘Bhindi’. Then I love cinnamon! To slake that, I drink cinnamon water or coffee. But my guilty pleasure is donuts! But they have to be very moist, only then,” adds the choreographer-turned-actress.

She continued, “I am not at all a tea person. There is no need for me to have a caffeine kick in the morning! As an alternative, I add cinnamon and lime to warm water and begin my day. whereas I have a major sweet tooth! Everyone knows I am a Gujarati, and we have such a fondness for sweets that you’ll see us having Gud ki daal. Having said that, I do try to control myself!
