Tributes were paid to former minister and Congress leader Gaddam Venkat Swamy on his birth anniversary. On Saturday, at Sangareddy Collectorate conference hall, Minister for Health and Family Welfare Damodar Raja Narasimha and District Collector Kranti Valluru paid floral tributes to his portrait, recalling his services.
Speaking at the event, the Minister praised Venkat Swamy as a leader who earned a special place in the state’s politics and was dedicated to social welfare. He highlighted Venkat Swamy’s lifelong dedication to the welfare of the poor and his tireless fight for Dalit rights. He noted that Venkat Swamy’s efforts to achieve social and economic equality had served as a guiding light for many lives.
He further stated that Venkat Swamy implemented many welfare schemes to ensure justice for the underprivileged and gave hope to the Dalit and marginalised communities across the country. His reforms in education and employment sectors continue to benefit countless students and unemployed youth today. He also remarked that Venkat Swamy’s efforts to address people’s hardships as a minister remain unforgettable, and his tireless work for the upliftment of the poor and social equality will always be remembered. The minister urged the youth to take inspiration from Venkat Swami’s life and strive for justice and equality in society.
He added that Venkat Swami’s efforts to provide equal opportunities in education, employment, and economic sectors would continue to inspire future generations, and his vision remains relevant and necessary for society today. Minister Narasimha emphasized that the work done by Venkat Swami to secure equal rights for all remains a significant contribution.
The event was attended by trainee Collector Manoj, DRO Padmaja Rani, district officials, and other relevant departmental officers.
