Daniel Radcliffe saddened with JK Rowling’s stance on transgender rights

Must read

Daniel Radcliffe has expressed sadness about author JK Rowling’s attitude toward transgender rights, telling an interviewer that he has not communicated with the Harry Potter creator for years. Daniel Radcliffe, who portrayed Harry Potter in the enormously popular film adaptations of Rowling’s best-selling books, has found himself at odds with Rowling over the contentious question of gender identification.
JK Rowling has been accused of transphobia for prioritising biological sex over gender identity, but Radcliffe has for long advocated for LGBTQ organisations that protect the rights of trans women.
“It makes me really sad, ultimately,” Daniel Radcliffe told.
“Because I do look at the person that I met, the times that we met, the books that she wrote, and the world that she created, and all of that is to me so deeply empathic.”
Gender identification has become a divisive political issue in several nations, including Rowling’s own Scotland and the United States, where Radcliffe is now appearing in a Broadway play.
J.K. Rowling has been at the forefront, claiming that transgender rights threaten women. She has raised concerns that transgender women entering female-designated changing rooms, restrooms, or prisons causes harm.
