The Telangana government offered scholarships under Post-Matric Scholarships (PMS) Scheme benefiting Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Backward Class (BC), Economically Backward Class (EBC), Minorities and Physically Challenged students in the State.
In order to ensure transparency and accountability in the sanctioning and disbursement of Post-Matric Scholarships, Online System Website: http://telanganaepass.cgg.gov.in(E-PASS PORTAL) is being implemented. The system needs registration of colleges and students to enable processing of data for sanction of fresh and renewal scholarships under Post-Matric scholarship.
The registration of colleges and students for the Academic Year 2023-24 in the TS e-pass website has commenced on August 19, 2023 and will cease on January 31, 2024.
So far, only 4,20,262 fresh students have registered their names in the ePass website, as against 5,50,000 fresh applications.
The Convener, LAWCET has sent the CET details recently and the students have to register their names for scholarships. The Convener of DIETCET, TS-EAMCET-AC-SW-II-2023-B.Pharmacy and Pharm-D courses) and (TS-ICET-AC-SW-II-2023-MBA and MCA courses have not yet furnished the CET data which requires fresh registration of students.
Moreover, the government has sanctioned new medical and other professional colleges during the year 2023-24 and the registration of the college’s and students are pending on the Epass website.
All the regulatory authorities and colleges managements must ensure that all colleges and students who wish to register in e-pass will upload their data up to March 31, 2024 for sanction of renewal and fresh scholarships for the Academic Year 2023-24.
The Welfare Department is requested to give a wide publicity on the registration process for renewal and fresh scholarships and ensure that the registration process be completed by March 31.
