Marking one year in office, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu took to social media to commemorate the anniversary of what he described as a historic turning point in the State’s political journey.

In a powerful message posted on X (formerly Twitter), the Chief Minister reflected June 4, 2024, as a “day that created history and restored democracy” in Andhra Pradesh. He described it as the moment when the people’s revolution ended a “psycho regime,” overthrew dictatorial rule, and reinstated freedom, peace, and constitutional governance in the State.

“The day when democracy was restored through a mass movement… the day when the State, wounded by government tyranny, was handed over to the alliance for a new beginning of welfare, development, and good governance,” Naidu wrote.

The Chief Minister acknowledged the critical role played by workers and leaders of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Jana Sena Party (JSP), and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in securing the people’s mandate. He credited the relentless efforts of “Yellow Soldiers,” “Jana Sainiks,” and the unwavering support of “Kamal Nath” (symbolising the BJP) for the coalition’s victory.

The CM said that the responsibility bestowed upon the government is being treated with utmost seriousness, and that the administration has been strengthened to live up to public expectations. “We are committed to delivering on welfare and accelerating development,” he assured. Promising to unveil many more development and welfare programmes over the remaining four years of the term, Naidu concluded his message with a rousing call: “Jai Andhra Pradesh… Jai Jai Andhra Pradesh!”
