The skin of a deer was found in the house of a priest of Varadarajula Swamy temple. The Varadarajula Swamy temple is affiliated with the famous Kanhipakam Vinayaka temple located at Kanipakam in the Chittoor district.
Official sources said that Annadana Prasadam is organised every day in the temple. Meals are provided to the devotees in the temple. However, allegations levelled that the commodities meant for Nitya Annadanam are being diverted to other purposes and being misused.
A complaint was lodged with the police by the temple official on the missing huge quantity of commodities of Nitya Annadanam.
When the police searched the house of temple priest Krishna Mohan, they found the skin of a deer. The police seized the deer’s skin and handed it over to the forest officials. The priest told the forest officials that he had purchased the skin from a person a few days ago. DFO Chaitanya Kumar Reddy directed the forest officials to register a case against the priest and the person who sold the skin to the priest.
