In Telangana, the BRS, the Congress and the BJP are the main political parties. While the leaders of the BRS and the Congress are showing interest in contesting to the Assembly, BJP leaders are interested in contesting in the Lok Sabha elections.
The reason is that BRS leaders are confident of a hat-trick victory while Congress leaders strongly believe that they will come to power after a decade. BJP leaders are confident of a hat-trick victory in the Lok Sabha elections in Telangana.
The Karnataka Assembly elections have changed the mindset of Congress and BRS leaders in Telangana. BRS and Congress leaders think that if their party comes to power in the Assembly elections they have a chance of becoming a minister.
BJP leaders think that if they win in the Lok Sabha elections they will get a chance to join the Union Cabinet.
Before the Karnataka Assembly elections, BJP leaders had hopes of coming to power in TS. But after the Karnataka Assembly elections, they don’t think that they will come to power in Telangana but are confident of a BJP victory in the Lok Sabha elections.
At present there is heavy demand for Assembly tickets in the BRS and the Congress and in the BJP there is demand for Lok Sabha tickets. The MPs of the BRS and the Congress prefer to contest Assembly elections than the Lok Sabha elections.
Some leaders in the Congress and the BJP want to test their luck in Assembly elections and if they lose they want to contest to the Lok Sabha.
During the last Assembly elections, Congress and BJP MPs like Revanth Reddy, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, G. Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay Kumar were defeated and they later contested to the LS and got elected.
Meanwhile, the BRS and Congress leaderships are thinking of fielding senior MLAs and leaders in the Lok Sabha elections. But they prefer to contest in the Assembly elections and become ministers if their party comes to power.
