Demand for KTR visits increasing from BRS MLAs

Must read

BRS MLAs are increasingly demanding that BRS Working President IT Minister KT Rama Rao should tour their constituencies. This is particularly true about BRS MLAs who are doubtful about getting party tickets for the Telangana Assembly elections.

The reason for this is that during his district visits, KTR is attending public meetings or some other meetings and is announcing BRS candidates for the coming elections.

KTR recently toured districts extensively and took part in various official programmes and inaugurated many welfare programmes of the BRS government.

During these meetings, KTR announced his party’s candidates for the coming Assembly and Lok Sabha elections. After announcing candidates he requested the public to vote for them and to make them victorious with a huge majority.

Last month when KTR toured Huzurabad Assembly constituency he announced that BRS MLC Padi Kaushik Reddy will contest from that constituency in the Assembly elections against BJP MLA Eatala Rajendar.

Similarly, KTR announced that the Vice Chairman of the State Planning Board, B. Vinod Kumar, will contest from the Karimnagar Lok Sabha constituency in the next LS elections.

He also announced that sitting MLAs Gandra Venkata Ramana Reddy (Bhoopalpalli) and Dasyam Vinaya Bhaskar (Warangal West) whose candidatures were announced would tour the erstwhile Warangal district.

BRS sources said that KTR reportedly told Malkajgiri MLA M. Hanumantha Rao that his son M. Rohit will be fielded from the Medak Assembly constituency. At present BRS MLA Padma Devendar Reddy is representing this constituency.

Hanumantha Rao had won from Medak and his native village also is in this constituency. He has launched many welfare programmes through his own foundation in this constituency.

Meanwhile, there are rumours that 25 to 30 sitting BRS MLAs may not get party tickets in the Assembly elections. Due to this, some BRS MLAs are confused about whether they will get the party ticket or not. They think that if KTR tours their constituencies he may announce their candidature and if he does not they can get clarity about getting BRS tickets.

Sources said that KTR is announcing candidates at places where there are no internal disputes in the BRS and in the coming days he may announce some more candidates.

Meanwhile, some BRS MLAs are declaring themselves candidates. The controversial former Deputy Chief Minister and Station Ghanpur MLA, Thatikonda Rajayya, announced at a press conference that he will contest again from this constituency and that his victory is certain.

Some other BRS MLAs too have declared themselves candidates for the Assembly elections.
