Depressed with the death of her lover, a young girl allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself to the ceiling fan in her house at UKV Nagar in Yanam on Tuesday.
Police said that the deceased girl Meesala Mounika (22) was studying third-year nursing at Royal Nursing College. She fell in love with Nimmakayala Chinna. However, Chinna was addicted to bad habits including ganja.
Nimmakayala Chinna committed suicide two months ago by setting himself afire due to financial problems. With the death of Chinna, Mounika was upset and went into depression.
She ended her life by hanging herself in her house. The parents of deceased Mounika died 10 years ago and her maternal uncle brought her up. The police registered a case and shifted the body to the GGH for postmortem.
