Deputy Chief Minister K Pawan Kalyan visited the Vijayawada Book Fair on Saturday, spending over two and a half hours exploring a variety of book stalls and purchasing an extensive range of books. Known for his deep love for reading, the Deputy CM showed a keen interest in diverse subjects, including law, history, politics, public policy, science and technology, agriculture, environmental topics, and Telugu literature. During his visit, Pawan Kalyan reviewed books in Telugu, Hindi, and English, selecting works from both renowned and emerging authors.
His focus extended to ancient literature, critical analyses, translated literary works, dictionaries, and spiritual writings.
One of the memorable moments of his visit was his excitement upon discovering Man’s Search for Meaning by Dr. Viktor E. Frankl. Expressing admiration for the book, he highlighted its potential to help people overcome despair and foster optimism. The Deputy CM shared his intention to buy additional copies to gift to others. The book recounts Frankl’s harrowing experiences in Nazi concentration camps during World War II and his ability to find meaning in life even amidst adversity.
Apart from his literary interests, the Deputy CM also displayed a strong inclination toward books on Indian laws, governance, and environmental issues.
He was accompanied by Vijayawada City Police Commissioner Rajasekhar Babu and Book Fair organisers Emesco Vijay Kumar, T Manoharanayudu, Lakshmaiah, Babji, and others, who appreciated his enthusiasm for the fair and its collection.
