The Centre under its Prasaad scheme released the first installment of Rs 41 crore for temple tourism
development in the temple town of Bhadrachalam.
Of the amount, the authorities taken up development works in Bhadrachalam temple and Parnasala
at a cost of Rs 22 crore.
The state government has released Rs 60.20 crore for temple development. The works have reached
the final stage as of now.
On the other side, notification has been issued for development of broad gauge railway line linking
Malkangiri in Odisha with Pandurangapuram in Telangana, 173.6 km apart. The tender process was
through. The railway track would pass through Odisha, AP and Telangana. The length of the railway
track in Telangana would be 85.5 km.
In a latest development, the Centre gave its green signal for development of Bhadrachalam-Kovvuru
railway track, to be developed at a cost of Rs 2115 crore. The Union Railway Minister Ashwini
Vaishnav said that the track would be ready by 2030.
The two railway lines would help bring devotees to Bhadrachalam temple from all parts of the
country.
Following the plans to develop temple tourism in Bhadrachalam, the realtors focused their attention
on real estate development around the temple town. They are prepared to procure land in the
villages which have been merged with the AP – Yetapaka, Pichchukalapadu, Gundala, Kannayigudem
and Purushottamapatnam.
With one of the railway lines proceeding through outskirts of Chennampeta in Yetapaka mandal
and reaches Pandurangapuram via Burgampahad mandal. Therefore, the prices of lands in Sarapaka
and Mote areas of Burgampahad mandal developed wings.
The vacant sites are being acquired in Bhadrachalam with record speed. The real estate in the region
that took back seat because of the backwaters of the Polavaram picked up again.
The district collector Jitesh V Patil is keen to develop eco-tourism in Bhadrachalam, Kinnerasani,
Tummalacheruvu, Pubelli, Bendalapadu, Bojjiguppa and Narayanaraopeta. He felt that there are
many opportunities for eco-tourism development in the district. The tourism development would
change the fate of the tribals and it helps them become self-employed, thereby improving their
economic condition. On the other hand, the district will witness all round development in all
sectors of activity. The Agency areas will receive top priority in the days to come, he said.
