Ministers Dola Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy and Gottipari Ravi Kumar have reiterated that the government is giving priority to carrying out development works, and at the same time, prioritised the implementation of welfare schemes. The general body meeting of Prakasam district Zilla Parishad was held here on Tuesday and presided over by ZP chairperson Buchepalli Venkayamma. Addressing the meeting, Social Welfare Department Dr Dola Bala Veeranjaya Swamy said that the implementation of the programmes by the District Water Management Corpo ration, District Rural Development Corporation, Agriculture and Horticu lture Department, Medical Health Department, Hou sing Construction Depart ment and Electricity Department were discussed in the ZP meeting. The Minister said that the medical and health department officials were ordered to take necessary precautions to prevent the outbreak of contagious diseases in the district. Also regarding the agriculture department, instructions were given to the officials of the agriculture department to prepare the details of the crops lost due to heavy rains at the field level and to give advice and suggestions to the farmers on saving their crops and using of the required fertilizers, the minister stated. Minister Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy revealed that after reviewing the medical and health departments, the officials were directed to take measures to increase the delivery rate in government hospitals and provide better medical services. The Minister directed the health officials to take steps to ensure that blood is supplied by the private blood banks to the government hospitals to save the patients. He instructed the authorities to undertake the necessary work through the employment guarantee scheme with the aim of developing the villages. “During the last four months, Rs 200 crore worth of CC roads, drainage canals and cattle sheds have been constructed in the district,” the Minister disclosed. Minister for Energy Gottipati Ravi Kumar said ZP members including MLAs, MLCs and ZPTCs had raised many issues in the ZP meeting and steps would be taken to address the issues. District Collector A Thameem Ansariya, MLAs D Janardhan Rao, Dr Mukku Narasimha Reddy, Kandula Narayana Reddy, E Nageswra Rao, B Shiva Prasad Reddy also raised various issues including agriculture and urged to take steps to provide fertilizers to the farmers.
