Minister lays foundation stone for Boyagudem-Sitanagaram Road

‘Janahitam’ app to be launched to address public grievances

Minister for Housing K. Parthasarathy has laid the foundation stone for the Boyagudem-Sitanagaram road at Namavaram village in Chintalapudi mandal. The road, which will cost Rs 20 crore, is set to enhance connectivity between Boyagudem and Sitanagaram via Shettivardudem.
Minister Parthasarathy, accompanied by MP Putta Mahesh Kumar and MLAs S. Roshan Kumar and Badeti Chanti, inaugurated the project on Saturday. Additionally, he launched the ‘Janahitam’ app to address public grievances.
Speaking at the event, the Minister stated that the government plans to reconstruct and repair all R&B roads in every Assembly constituency under the NREGA scheme, with each project costing between Rs 10 crore and Rs 20 crore.
He reiterated the government’s commitment to completing the Polavaram project, noting that the Centre has sanctioned Rs 12,000 crore for this purpose and Rs 15,000 crore for the development of Amaravati. The Centre has also assured further financial support for various projects in Andhra Pradesh.
Parthasarathy criticised the previous YSRCP-led government for its failure to complete the Chintalapudi Lift Scheme. He highlighted that while Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had invested Rs 4,000 crore in the project during his previous term, the YSRCP regime had allocated only Rs 10 crore. He emphasised the significance of the Lift Scheme, which aims to provide irrigation and drinking water to Nuzvid and Tiruvuru constituencies.
The Minister also noted that Grama Sabhas were held on 23 August across 13,000 village panchayats to address and resolve public grievances.
Addressing the financial challenges inherited by the coalition government, Parthasarathy affirmed that the Naidu-led administration is committed to steering the state out of its current difficulties. He criticised the previous YSRCP government for neglecting road maintenance and pledged to expedite the reconstruction of damaged roads.
MP Putta Mahesh Kumar announced that work is underway to repair potholes and that comprehensive road reconstruction will commence within the year. He also revealed that some road projects will be developed under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode, including the Eluru-Jangareddy state highway.
The MP further informed that he has lobbied with the Central government to lift the ceiling on tobacco crops, which will benefit tobacco farmers by Rs 106 crore. He also promised to advocate for fair prices for oil palm farmers.
MLAs S. Roshan Kumar and Badeti Radhakrishnaih, former MLA Ganta Murali, and BJP district president Vikram also addressed the gathering, underscoring their commitment to implementing welfare schemes and development projects.
