On the auspicious occasion of Vykunta Ekadasi on Monday, all the Vaishnavite (Lord Vishnu) temples such as Sri Venkateswara, Sri Rama, Chennakesava and Sri Krishna temples in both Krishna and NTR District reverberated with the holy name of Govinda.

Thousands of devotees flocked to the temples through the Uttara Dwara Darshan (Vaikunata Darshan) from early morning. It is believed that those who have Uttara Dwara Darshan on Vykunta Ekadashi will attain Moksha.

Devotees started reaching the temples, mostly Sri Venkateswara Temples, before sunrise. In the wake of Vykunta Ekadashi, all the Vaishnavite temples had been decked up very beautifully with all sorts of flowers. TTD Temple located near the office of the Commissioner of Police in Vijayawada witnessed a large number of devotees.

TTD authorities made special queue lines for providing hassle-free darshan to the devotees. Likewise, thousands of devotees thronged the Labbipet Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple through the Uttara Dwaram.

A host of temples in Krishna district, mainly Bacchupeta Venkateswara Swamy Temple at Machilipatnam, Chennakesava Swamy Temple at Pedana, Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple at Agiripalli of Eluru district and other prominent Vaishnava temples, witnessed huge rush of devotees.

Meanwhile, the police took special measures to avoid any inconvenience to the devotees. They regulated traffic by setting up barricades in many places. Meanwhile, many devotees observed fasting seeking God’s blessings.
