Scores of devotees participated in the Vaikunta Ekadasi, popularly known as ‘Mukkoti Ekadasi’ celebrations in all Vaishnavatie temples in NTR and Krishna districts on Saturday. Devotees thronged the temples from 5 am onwards and worshipped Sri Venkateswara Swamy and Sri Maha Vishnu.
Devotees formed long queues outside Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple at Labbipet in Vijayawada. Also, Sri Devi, Bhu Devi Sametha Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple located at Adavinekkalam of Agiripalli mandal in Eluru district witnessed rush of devotees. The temple authorities provided Uttara Dwara Darshanam for them. Pilgrims thronged the temple from across the erstwhile Krishna district.
Also, Vaikunta Ekadasi celebrations were held at Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple and Sri Venugopala Swamy Temple in One Town in the city. Mukkoti Ekadasi was celebrated at all Ramalayams in Vijayawada.
Similarly, special rituals were performed on the occasion of the Mukkoti Ekadasi at Sri Ashta Lakshmi Sametha Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy Temple on the premises of China Kanchi at Nunna near Vijayawada. Temple trustee Mokkapati Sarma performed Laksha Tulasi Puja. After that, the temple’s second Brahmotsavalu started.
Uttara Dwara Darashanam was provided to the devotees at the age-old Sri Venugopala Swamy Temple, one of the big temples in the erstwhile Krishna district at Nunna. Temple priests Ramu and Dattu decorated Lord Sri Maha Vishnu as Seshasayana Sri Maha Vishnuvu like Ranganatha Swamy at Srirangam.
They used around 25 kg of sandal for this alankaram.
Hundreds of devotees offered special prayers at Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple at Dokiparru of Gudlavalleru mandal in Krishna district.
