Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP) Harish Kumar Gupta has handed over a compensation cheque of ?1 crore to the family of ASI D Kondayya, who died in a road accident while on duty. The cheque was presented to Kondayya’s wife, P Paparani, at the DGP’s office on Thursday. This compensation was provided under the SBI Police Salary Package, which offers financial support to the families of police personnel who lose their lives in the line of duty.
ASI Kondayya, who was serving in Bapatla district, lost his life in a road accident that occurred in December 2024.
The cheque handover event was attended by IGP (P&L) M Raviprakash, IPS, CAO Rajan, and officials from the State Bank of India.
The DGP expressed condolences to the bereaved family and reiterated the Police Department’s commitment to supporting the families of personnel who make the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
