Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said that Collectors have been directed to resolve complaints received during the tenure of the BRS government regarding Dharani issues as well as new ones received recently within 10 days. Proper reasons have to be given in case a complaint is rejected, he said. Revenue Principal Secretary Naveen Mittal has been directed to focus on Ranga Reddy, Sangareddy and Vikarabad districts where pending complaints are high. Collectors have been told to conduct workshops with intellectuals regarding the new Revenue Act 2024’s draft on August 23 and 24. Collectors were directed to speed up the layout regularisation process which would benefit lakhs of families. Regularisation of land should be done only according to rules. He said that LRS should also set up help desks along with special teams for field inspections. The CS has been advised to appoint a Special Grade Deputy Collector as the supervising officer in all districts to monitor the LRS process. If anyone has not provided the necessary documents when applying for LRS, they should upload them using the special app meant for LRS. It has been suggested that 100 LRS applications should be processed in the first phase under the pilot project in each district. Officials have been asked to design future activities keeping in mind the good and bad things they have encountered. Collectors have been advised to give the highest priority to Dharani applications keeping in mind the fact that during the tenure of the BRS government, there were about 25 lakh applications for LRS in 2020 and that these applications have not been resolved.
