Renowned director Krishna Vamsi visited Lakshmipuram village in Anakapalle district, Andhra Pradesh, accompanied by acclaimed novelist Yandamuri Veerendranath. Both paid homage at the tombs of legendary freedom fighters Alluri Sitarama Raju and Gantam Dora.
Reports suggest that Krishna Vamsi is keen on making a film with an Alluri Sitarama Raju backdrop, which prompted his visit. He also interacted with the family members of Gantam Dora to understand their history and legacy.
Yandamuri Veerendranath praised Krishna Vamsi’s patriotism, citing his heartfelt gesture at Alluri’s tomb. He also recalled the director’s patriotic film Khadgam, highlighting his commitment to portraying nationalism on screen.
Krishna Vamsi expressed his long-held desire to visit Alluri’s historical sites, a dream that was finally fulfilled. He mentioned the book Akupacha Suryodayam, which deeply inspired him to explore Alluri’s legacy further. The director also stated his intention to create a compelling film based on Alluri’s history.
As part of the visit, the Nenu Saitham Charitable Trust distributed clothing to the family of Gantam Dora, who was one of Alluri’s closest followers and now resides in Koyyuru Mandal. The trust’s founder, Kusireddy Shiva, led the initiative.
