Terms election as a choice between genuine welfare and empty promises

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has asserted that the upcoming elections will chart the course of the State for the next five years. In a fervent address during the Narasapuram election campaign meeting in West Godavari district on Friday, Jagan Mohan Reddy emphasised the importance of continued welfare schemes, he cautioned the electorate against viewing the election as a mere choice of MPs and MLAs.
“Kurukshetra war is going to happen in the next ten days. If you vote for Jagan in this election, all the schemes will continue. If you vote for Chandrababu, it will be the end of the schemes,” proclaimed CM Jagan, evoking the stakes of the electoral battle.
He further questioned the efficacy of Chandrababu Naidu’s leadership, challenging the people to recall any substantive contributions made by the former Chief Minister to the welfare of the State’s impoverished people.
In contrast, CM Jagan extolled the accomplishments of the YSRCP government in implementing a slew of welfare measures over the past 59 months. With a particular focus on agrarian support, the CM delineated various initiatives to bolster farmers’ livelihoods, including Rythu Bharosa, e-crop assistance, and free crop insurance. Moreover, he highlighted the provision of free electricity and input subsidies as further testimony to the government’s commitment to rural prosperity.

Turning to healthcare, CM Jagan touted the transformative impact of the Aarogyasri scheme, which offers free medical insurance up to Rs 25 lakh, alongside ancillary provisions such as Aarogya Asara and the establishment of village clinics.

He underscored the administration’s resolve to ensure that no citizen incurs debt for medical treatment under its watch.
Expounding on the extensive service delivery network facilitated by village and ward secretariats, CM Jagan elucidated the far-reaching benefits accruing from the deployment of volunteers to facilitate access to government schemes and services. He emphasised the elimination of corruption and discrimination in the dispensation of services, heralding a new era of transparent governance.
In a scathing attack on Chandrababu Naidu’s tenure, CM Jagan lambasted the former chief minister’s unfulfilled promises, pointing to the glaring disparity between rhetoric and reality. He cited examples such as the failure to deliver on unemployment benefits and housing schemes as emblematic of Chandrababu’s governance shortcomings.
Echoing these sentiments in Pedakurapadu, CM Jagan exhorted the electorate to repudiate Chandrababu Naidu’s hollow promises and embrace the transformative agenda espoused by the YSRCP. He underscored the administration’s commitment to fulfilling its manifesto pledges, framing it as a sacred obligation akin to religious scriptures.
Continuing his tirade against Chandrababu in Kanigiri, CM Jagan accused the former Chief Minister of callous indifference towards the plight of the underprivileged. He juxtaposed Chandrababu Naidu’s paltry pension allocations with the YSRCP government’s substantial increases, casting the election as a choice between genuine welfare and empty rhetoric.
CM Jagan’s impassioned addresses across Narasapuram, Pedakurapadu, and Kanigiri epitomise the high stakes of the upcoming election, terming it a decisive battle between competing visions for the future of Andhra Pradesh.
