District Collector V Prasanna Venkatesh has directed the officials not to store the eggs supplied to serve in the mid-day meal for more than a week.
The Collector conducted surprise inspections at various places including government schools Friday. He inspected the mid-day meal scheme at ARDGK School and then inspected the Nadu-Nedu works, paddy purchase process, and surprise inspection of fertilizer shops.
The Collector inspected the quality of mid-day meals at the ARDGK school. He said that action would be taken against the headmasters concerned if the quality of the mid-day meal scheme was not maintained. The eggs provided in the mid-day meal scheme should be given to the students and they should not be stored for more than a week.
Mid-day meals should be provided as per the menu prescribed by the government, the Collector instructed the officials concerned. The Collector also inspected the construction works of the scheme Nadu- Nedu in the school.
Later the Collector inspected the Lakshmi Srinivasa Rice Company and examined the paddy stocks. The staff of the paddy purchase centre should work without any complaints in calculating the moisture of the paddy produce, brought by the farmers for selling, he ordered the staff.
The Collector examined the register, related to the purchase of paddy and the stock. District Civil Supplies Officer RSS Raju, Civil Supplies Corporation District Manager Manju Bhargavi, JD Agriculture Y Ramakrishna and Tahsildar Somasekhar were among those who accompanied the Collector.
