DGP K V Rajendranath Reddy has issued orders to all the police commissioners, range DIGs and district SPs not to use the services of women police for police duties. The main purpose of setting up Mahila Police is to identify the problems faced by women and children in the villages and coordinate with other departments and provide them with all the necessary assistance.
The DGP, on Friday, issued orders not to use women police officers working in village and ward secretariats for general duties of the Police Department such as security, reception, and peace and security, and to call them frequently to the police station under any circumstances. It has been stated that strict action would be taken against anyone who used women police officers for police duties.
