Drip irrigation system will be taken up to increase water efficiency in KBR Park. Amid ongoing works, Additional Commissioner Dr K Sunanda Rani inspected KBR Park on Thursday, along with K Balaiah from the Engineering wing and Anjaneyulu, field assistant.
Dr Sunanda Rani reviewed the progress of the ongoing works. As per the Commissioner’s instructions, the UBD wing recently developed 10 different theme parks, such as a herbal and medicinal garden, an ixora garden and a ficus garden, in and around the KBR walkway. The Commissioner further instructed regular operations such as trimming, sweeping, green waste lifting and gap filling to maintain the park in lush green condition.
Dr Sunanda Rani also discussed with the drip irrigation agency about the installation of a drip system to improve water use efficiency. She also instructed regular cleaning of the baby pond.
According to the engineering wing, pending works include numbering of steps, painting the kerb wall around the park, repairing stone seating around trees with granite for better appearance, screening to eliminate waste near the cancer hospital, diverting storm/drainage water flooding the pathway, replacing or repairing damaged grills, and ongoing granite flooring of steps.
Dr Sunanda Rani advised coordination with the engineering wing and all line departments to complete the works assigned by the Commissioner.
