Narendra A Patil, DRM of Vijayawada Division, SCR, inaugurated the Kendriya Police Kalyan Bhandar (RPF Dry Canteen) at the DRM office compound in Vijayawada on Monday. The facility, sanctioned by the Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi, is managed by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Vijayawada Division and funded with Rs 10 lakh from the Rail Suraksha Kalyan Nidhi.
The canteen offers groceries, consumables, lifestyle products, uniforms, electronic appliances, and vehicles at concessional rates for serving and retired RPF personnel and their families.
Patil also flagged off a new 38-seater bus and eight Bullet motorcycles for RPF, Vijayawada Division. The bus will transport personnel across key sections, while the motorcycles will enhance mobility and assist in rapid responses to crime scenes.
The event, attended by senior officials, reflects Indian Railways’ commitment to personnel welfare and strengthening security infrastructure.
