The dry run of Stage 1 of the Palamuru–Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme (PRLIS) was conducted successfully on Sunday. The first pump the Palamuru-Ragnareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme at Narlapur under Kollapur mandal in Nagarkurnool district was conducted successfully. Special Chief Secretary for Irrigation Rajat Kumar, Engineer-in-Chief Muralidhar Rao and other officials were present on the occasion. The dry run of the first lift of the pump house of the project at Narlapur was successful, the officials said, exuding confidence that the wet run too would be conducted successfully shortly.
Meanwhile, Minister for Prohibition and Excise V Srinivas Goud said that Mahabubnagar would witness rapid development.
The Minister declared that water would be released to Karivena from the Palamauru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme shortly. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao gave funds for the development of the district.
