Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Panchayat Raj, K. Pawan Kalyan, has announced a grant of Rs 15 crore for the development of Ravivalasa panchayat in Srikakulam district.

As part of the ‘Mana Oorikosam Mana Mantha’ initiative, Pawan Kalyan interacted with the villagers of Ravivalasa through a video conference on Thursday. In a novel approach, villagers were taken to a cinema theatre in Tekkali town to view the Deputy Chief Minister’s address on the silver screen.

“For the first time, cinema theatres, traditionally meant for entertainment, have become platforms for social responsibility. It was a unique experience to connect with the people this way,” he remarked.

Explaining the rationale behind the programme, Pawan Kalyan said it was launched to dispel the notion that political leaders neglect villages and fail to provide basic amenities. “The goal of ‘Mana Oorikosam Mana Mantha’ is to foster unity among villagers and encourage collective discussions on local development,” he stated.

He described the Rs 15 crore allocation as a significant step and stressed that true development requires both government support and public participation. “Development does not come merely through funding. Real progress is possible only when all villagers work together. Those who have risen in life should never forget their roots,” he added.
