The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) at SRM University-AP has hosted the inaugural edition of its flagship event, “ECE Open House Day 2025: From Microchips to Megatrends.” The event brought together industry leaders, academicians, students and enthusiasts to celebrate innovation and technical excellence.
With over 150 student projects on display from Capstone, UROP and M Tech tracks, the event offered a glimpse into cutting-edge research and development in domains such as VLSI, Embedded Systems & IoT, Biomedical Signal Processing, RF & Antenna Design, and Communication Engineering. These projects were developed under the guidance of ECE faculty, with a focus on innovation, problem-solving, and sustainability.
Eminent industry experts including Dr. Rajkumar Elagiri Ramalingam (Mphasis), Dr. Kamal Das (IBM Research India), Bhavani Shankar (Efftronics), and Dr B Surya Prasada Rao (IETE Vijayawada) were present, alongside university dignitaries such as Pro Vice Chancellor Prof Ch Satish Kumar, Registrar Dr R Premkumar, Dean-SEAS Prof CV Tomy and Head of the ECE Department Dr KA Sunitha.
Students from local schools and colleges also participated, gaining exposure and inspiration from the innovative ecosystem.
Twelve standout projects were recognised by the panel of judges for their exceptional technological contributions. The Open House served as a platform not only to showcase student learning but also to reinforce SRM AP’s commitment to fostering a culture of research, creativity, and practical problem-solving in engineering education.
