The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has ramped up its investigation into the Formula E-Car Race case and has issued fresh notices to BLN Reddy and Arvind Kumar, IAS. The notices, sent on Thursday, directed both individuals to appear for questioning on January 8 and 9 respectively. Â
BLN Reddy and Arvind Kumar both sought 2 to 3 weeks to appear and submit documents.
Earlier, the ED had scheduled hearings for BLN Reddy on January 2, Arvind Kumar on January 3, and KTR on January 7. However, BLN Reddy was absent for his hearing on Thursday. Citing the need for more time, he sent an email to the Joint Director handling the case. The ED officials responded positively, granting a slot to appear on January 8 and 9.
Meanwhile, speculation surrounds whether KTR will appear on January 7, fuelling discussions about the progress of the investigation.
The ED’s intensified scrutiny has drawn attention to this high-profile case, as it continues to probe the alleged irregularities associated with the Formula E-Car Race.
The ED had written to a foreign company involved in the organisation of the race to gather details of transactions. It is also investigating payments made through the Himayat Nagar branch of the Indian Overseas Bank and is examining who authorised these transactions.
The ED’s focus on the Formula E-Car Race case highlights its commitment to uncovering financial malpractices and ensuring accountability.
