The efforts of Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) in Andhra Pradesh have yielded impressive results, according to a third-party study conducted by the Engineering Staff College of India and Andhra University. The study revealed that the average annual savings per LED bulb is approximately 73.7 units.

During a meeting with the heads of EESL in the state, CEO Vishal Kapoor expressed his satisfaction with the resounding success of the Ujala and Grama Ujala programs in Andhra Pradesh, thanks to the cooperation of the state government. He announced that a staggering 220 million LED bulbs have been distributed to households in the state, resulting in an estimated annual savings of around 1,700 million units. In addition, EESL has provided approximately 324,000 energy-efficient fans in Andhra Pradesh, resulting in energy savings of 30 million units valued at Rs. 10 crore.

Kapoor emphasized EESL’s commitment to reducing energy consumption and promoting energy efficiency. To achieve this, EESL plans to introduce 10 million energy-efficient fans (both 3 Star and 5 Star rated) across India from September 2023. Kapoor stated, “Just as the nation successfully transitioned from incandescent bulbs to LEDs, it is now time to consciously shift towards energy-efficient fans. All stakeholders are encouraged to choose BLDC fans, which play a crucial role in achieving the nation’s zero-emission goals and promoting a sustainable and cleaner future for India. We hope that Andhra Pradesh will lead the way in this initiative.”
