Rs 1 lakh financial aid for minorities now

The BRS government launched another scheme in view of the upcoming assembly election. The Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao launched another welfare scheme and issued orders regarding it on Sunday. The new welfare scheme formulated along the lines of the Backward Classes (BCs) welfare scheme provides financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh to members of minority communities with a 100 per cent subsidy.

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s decision to extend financial help to minorities is aimed at helping them to become economically self-reliant.

“The State Government is trying its best to eliminate poverty irrespective of caste and religion. The government is already helping many groups,” the CM said.The Chief Minister reiterated that the government is committed to the development of all minority communities. Efforts are being made to end poverty and backwardness among minorities by implementing schemes in various sectors including education and employment. The action plan executed by the government is already yielding results, the CM said.

The CM made it clear that the government will safeguard the ‘Ganga Jamuni Tehzeeb’ by supporting all cultures and religious traditions equally.

The Rs 1 lakh financial assistance for minorities is given based on hereditary professions. The beneficiaries should be in between the age group of 21 to 55 years on June 2, 2023. One family is eligible only for one grant. The beneficiaries’ annual income must not exceed Rs 1.5 lakh per annum in rural areas and Rs 2 lakh per annum in urban areas.

The government also made it clear that families which are availing of other welfare schemes are ineligible for this scheme. Artists from Backward Classes and professional unions only can register names under this scheme.
