Electricity consumers asked to instal solar rooftops

West Godavari District Collector Chadalavada Nagarani has stressed the need to promote solar power and asked power consumers to install solar panels on the rooftops to generate solar power to save electricity.
The Collector inspected the arrangements for installing solar panels on the rooftops here on Tuesday. Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said that installing solar power is the right way to save electricity, which is very profitable. She observed that under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana scheme, a large amount of subsidy is also available for constructing solar rooftops, making installation easy.
Collector Nagarani said that the Central Government has come up with an excellent scheme to resolve this problem so that the common and middle-class people are burdened by the ever-increasing electricity bills. Apart from getting free electricity by installing solar panels on the roof of the house, the surplus electricity can also be sold to earn income, she maintained.
The Collector revealed that the electricity department introduced an easy online system for efficiently paying electricity bills.
