Eluru district has got Rs 7.41 crore under the YSR Shadi Thofa and YS Kalyanamastu schemes.
As many as 949 couples were given Rs 7.41 crore worth financial assistance under the YSR Kalyanamastu and YSR Shadi Thofa, district Collector V Prasanna Venkatesh said here on Wednesday.
Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday credited Rs 141.60 crore into the accounts of 18,883 couples in the state at a programme held in the camp office at Tadepalli.
On the occasion a programme was organized here on Wednesday in which the Collector, Mayor Noorjahan, social welfare joint director Jayaprakash and BC corporation ED Pushpalata and other officials participated. The Collector released a replica of the cheque on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said that 454 BC couples were extended Rs 2.36 crore, 410 SC couples were given Rs 4.16 crore, 61 SC couples were extended Rs 62.40 lakh, three couples belonging to the construction workers families were given Rs 1.20 lakh and 7 differently abled couples were given Rs 10.50 lakh.
The Collector said that 14 couples belonging to the minority community were given Rs 14 lakh under the scheme. Mayor Noorjahan and State Sahitya Academy chairman Pillamgolla Srilakshmi, also spoke.
