The Minister for Energy, Gottipati Ravi Kumar, held a crucial meeting with representatives from Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) at the AP Secretariat in Velagapudi on Tuesday, to assess the establishment of Compressed Bio Gas (CBG) plants in Andhra Pradesh. This review follows the recent Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the State government and RIL, which outlines an investment of ?65,000 crore for the development of 500 CBG plants, expected to generate approximately 2,50,000 jobs in the region.
Minister Kumar stressed the State government’s commitment to creating a conducive environment for investors, noting a strategic shift from “Ease of Doing Business” to “Speed of Doing Business.” He reassured RIL of full support in expediting the CBG projects and called upon the State Revenue Minister to facilitate seamless land allocations for these plants.
“Under the leadership of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, we are focused on enhancing the speed of business processes, aiming for efficiency and rapid project completion,” Gottipati stated. He directed the Energy Department to ensure close coordination with RIL and to address any administrative or bureaucratic challenges promptly.
The Energy Minister highlighted the importance of fast-tracking approvals and creating robust infrastructure for new industries. He referenced the State’s Single Desk Portal, which aims to streamline regulatory processes, improve transparency, and make business operations easier and quicker. This initiative is part of Andhra Pradesh’s broader strategy to enhance its global competitiveness and attract both national and international investments.
Officials from APTRANSCO, DISCOM and the Energy Department, alongside representatives from RIL, attended the meeting.
